DREAM DESTINATION: Riviera Maya

Sometimes you just need a beach vacation.  My best friend is in Mexico at the moment, and I’m trying to live vicariously through her, but really, it’s not enough.  My body needs the warmth of the sun, my skin needs some major color, and I just really wish I could put my feet in the sand and munch on fish tacos.  For now I guess I’ll just have to dream, but how nice does it sound to spend a few days along the Yucatan coast?   I’m not in the mood to be pampered — I’m just craving a low-key spot where I can read my book, walk the beach and totally unplug.  But that’s not to say I’m not up for a little adventure, too.  After a few days of total relaxation, I’d love to go snorkling and explore the Mayan ruins.  Who’s coming with me?

I was just in the Riviera Maya a few weeks ago and it was exactly what you described. Nothing outrageous. Nothing too adventurous. Just pure relaxation. We stayed at the Rosewood Mayakoba and I highly recommend! Check out the over-the-water suites!
