PACKING FROM A PRO: Trip Styler
by Rachel
As editor of the popular travel blog, TripStyler.com, Trish Friesen jaunts around the globe on all sorts of getaways. But the Canadian’s most frequent destination is Whistler Resort (voted the #1 Ski Resort To Stay And Play by Conde Nast Traveler). Less than a two-hour drive from Trish’s hometown of Vancouver, Whistler has 4 distinct seasons — and Trish has experience packing for each of them!
As a self-proclaimed reformed over-packer, she manages to pack in a carry-on bag for every trip—including the time she spent 3 weeks in Australia. She says, “packing light takes a little longer to think of pieces that will multiply your outfits and do double-duty at the outset, but when it means less time packing/unpacking and waiting at the airport, and more time at the pool, it’s worth it!” This is a sentiment I totally agree with, of course, which is just one of the reasons I’m so excited to share some of her secret packing tips and must-have items with you here today. Totally practical, slightly preppy, and always put-together, Trish is a true packing pro! Her favorite travel products include:
- Claire Vivier La Tropezienne bag $320
- Merona 1-Piece, $35 and Mossimo Bikini top and bottom $23 each
- Penn Championship tennis balls $5.33
- Burberry Giant Check Guaze Scarf $325
- Vaseline Petroleum Jelly $3.29
- Longchamp Le pilage handbag $118

Cheers, thank you! So many people can’t fathom packing with a carry-on, but I just returned from 2 weeks in The ABC Islands and I didn’t even wear half my garments in my small bag! Plus, it was super easy with the inter-islands flights—never had to check a bag!
Tennis ball – genius!
