STEPPING OUT: Our Wedding in the Berkshires

In many ways, the beautiful backdrop of the Berkshires set the tone for our wedding style, but I still spent a lot of time planning my overall look.  Although the reception took place in a barn, we wanted it to be chic and sophisticated, thus opting for a black tie affair.  Adjectives like “bohemian,” “whimsical,” “unfussy” and “elegant” helped me hone in on a dress and accessories that would be what I wanted and fit the day and the setting.  Finding my dress was not an easy process, but ultimately, this Monique Lhuillier felt like the perfect choice.  We incorporated mixed metals into our table settings and other aspects of our wedding decor, and in turn, I added these elements into my ensemble, through my earrings, shoes and belt.  From getting ready, to seeing my groom for the first time and spending a few hours together before the guests arrived, here’s what it was like when I “stepped out” in the Berkshires the day of my wedding.
